Celiac Awareness and Health Reform

Congress is serious about reforming our nation's health care system and evaluating several options.  So far, it appears that the needs of individuals with celiac disease, and others with chronic medical conditions, are being addressed.

The Senate HELP Committee measure does away with limitations for preexisting conditions.  The House Tri-Committee bill released last week follows suit.

The bills in both chambers have a strong emphasis on prevention and wellness.  Although the bills don't provide details on health benefits, there are signals that dietitian services are likely to be covered.

We can't take this for granted. Health reform must ensure dietitian services are covered for people with celiac disease.

Tell your legislators - TODAY.   Then share this with a friend.
