Product Testing
Consumers expect the foods they purchase to be safe to eat. An individual with celiac disease or food allergies, also relies on food companies to provide accurate labeling for the product’s ingredients. They have blind faith in the food industry to identify, process, and sell foods that are labeled properly.
To ensure the safety of their products, companies identify Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and implement programs to prevent allergen contamination throughout the production cycle. As part of this process food manufacturers may test ingredients, as well as analyze samples during production and prior to packaging and shipping.
The number of gluten-free food manufacturers has grown dramatically in the past few years. There has also been a significant increase in the number of inquiries about product testing. The companies listed below offer commercial / industry test kits or conduct independent lab analysis for allergens.
